Husbands Pedi and Mani

So I am very excited about getting to do my husbands mani and pedi.  While he will never let me paint his nails I will get by on just doing the other stuff.  So getting all my tools for the job sometimes takes a bit, since I am a klutz and loose stuff constantly.

I like using the Lush stepping stone on the toes and the ocean salt on the hand.  They really work well to scrub the skin and leave them soft.  So I soak the feet and scrub them with the stepping stone then put the dead sea cuticle oil on them.  Then remove dead skin by cuticles and etc.  Trimming nails and buffing.  Finishing with lotion.  Same method for hands but with the ocean salt and a bowl instead of a tub :)  He let me take some pictures so here they are in a slide show.

He really enjoyed it and I have a pretty good time doing it.  After all that was said and done, I let him pick what he wanted me to do on my nails.  He picked a white base coat and a fish net pattern in blue with a blue sparkle over the top.  So a White on White by China Glaze bottom color, a Deejay blue by L.A. girls, topped off with a blue sparkle called Nail Junkie by Sinful Colors.

Ginger Bells

Was playing with how the lighting in a room can affect the color.  It is really noticeable in these pictures I took of Ginger Bells by OPI.

Will be giving the husband a pedicure tomorrow… hopefully he will let me take pics!

Tronica Wheel

2 posts in one day!  Amazing.  Especially since there are 3 days I missed posting this month.  But in my defense I did post more than once on certain days.  This is one of those days.  I am really excited becuase I just picked up the Tronica collection by China Glaze.  I got 11 of the colors.  The color Gamer glam just didn’t stand out for me.  I am not a huge lighter purple fan.  I did get Mega Bite,  Laser Lime, Techno Teal, High Def, Virtual Violet, Electra Magenta, Hyper Haute, 3D Fantasy , Digtial Dawn, Cyber Space, and Holographic.  I find the colors to be great.  Some that are neon and others in cooler tones, but all with nice holo added.  I took some pictures a couple outside and one inside.  The one inside does not seem to accurately portray the colors at all, I like the shots outside better.

The inside shot. Not a great at all.

Outside, its sunny. Click me to see it bigger!

Magic Mushroom Bubble Bar

I was super exited to see a different version of the mushrooms on a youtube video.  As soon as I saw them I knew I had to recreate them in order to go with my mushroom bubble bar from lush.  Though I didn’t actually watch the video for the instructions, I just looked at the picture, I find her videos are not bad.  Back to my bath stuff… I love all the lush products.  I don’t think there are any I don’t like.  They are all real ingredients, hand made, and are just wonderful.  I think if I had to rank them it would be :

  1. Soap
  2. Bath Bombs
  3. Lotion
  4. Bubble Bars
  5. Face scrubs

My nails turned out great but ended up being quiet a long ordeal.  I wanted to use as the bottom color layer, or base of mushroom, Breakfast in Bed by OPI.  Though when I went to put it on it was WAY BAD.  It smelled, was super runny, and bubbled separated.  Needless to say I had to start over and get rid of the color.  Problem was I had no other color like that one.  So I mixed 1 drop New England Nutmeg and 2 drops white to make the color I needed.  I painted it on my nail with a small brush.  For the tops of the mushrooms I used Euro-mazing by OPI.  It is a great orangish red with an almost silvery red shine to it.   Then came the small details of white dots and black lines, grass and etc.  I then of course had to model it with the bubble bar in question.

Bubble Bar

Tiny bar... powerful bubbles

So I thought well since I am then going to be taking a bath with said bubble bar I should take pictures to show how the bubble bar works.  I know many people have used liquid to make bubbles but I think I prefer the bubble bars.  Here it is in action. Continue reading
